Robberies with violence

We - www.insuranceinspain.com have received reports today that there has been yet another Burglary/robbery and break-in, this time in the Las Laderas Area of Javea. That is a quiet residential area between Benitachell and Javea. Threats of violence were used to force the owners to open the safe!

Apparently this gang is now 5 strong and broke into an occupied Villa by smashing through a window to gain entry. Increased Police and Guardia Civil patrols will be taking place in these areas over the coming days.

If you see anything strange report it to the local police immediately or call 112, and if you have a panic button alarm in your property, keep it handy and make sure it works. Try and keep your external gates and garage doors locked and shutters down at night. If you have valuables make sure they are locked in the safe.

Our house insurance policies will cover you for Robbery with and without violence and if you have an all risk policy, then the jewellery that you wear and/or keep in the safe will be covered. It is always advisable to take photographs of your valuables and or get a valuation certificate for insurance purposes.

Your lives are more important than your possessions! If you do get burgled then let the burglars take what they want and remain safe. Possessions can be replaced-you can´t.
